Zolvinac-CS Eye Drop contains Nepafenac 0.1% w/v, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the treatment of ocular inflammation and pain associated with cataract surgery. Nepafenac is a prodrug that penetrates the cornea and is converted by ocular tissue hydrolases to amfenac, an active inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2. By inhibiting these enzymes, Nepafenac reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby mitigating inflammation, pain, and edema in the eye.

Zolvinac-CS Eye Drop is primarily prescribed to manage postoperative inflammation and to reduce the risk of cystoid macular edema following cataract extraction. It is administered topically, typically as one drop three times daily beginning one day prior to surgery and continuing for up to two weeks postoperatively, or as directed by a healthcare professional. The formulation is designed for optimal corneal penetration and minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects.
Common adverse effects may include transient burning or stinging upon instillation, conjunctival hyperemia, and blurred vision. Use of Zolvinac-CS Eye Drop is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Nepafenac or any component of the formulation. Careful monitoring is advised in patients with ocular surface disease or compromised corneas.
