It is indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible strains, including septicemia, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and endocarditis.

The 80mg dosage is typically administered via intramuscular or intravenous injection, with dosing frequency and duration tailored according to the severity of infection, renal function, and patient response. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment due to the risk of accumulation and nephrotoxicity.
