Mefenamic Acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), resulting in decreased synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. The synergistic action of these two active ingredients makes Xeplo-M effective in treating conditions such as dysmenorrhea, abdominal cramps, renal colic, and musculoskeletal pain where both spasm and inflammation coexist.
It is indicated for short-term use to provide symptomatic relief. Xeplo-M should be administered under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with gastrointestinal ulcers, renal or hepatic impairment, and hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
