Drotaverine, an antispasmodic agent, acts by inhibiting phosphodiesterase-IV, leading to increased intracellular cyclic AMP levels and subsequent relaxation of smooth muscles, thereby alleviating spasmodic pain. Mefenamic Acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. The synergistic action of these two active ingredients makes Mefvir Tablet effective in treating conditions such as dysmenorrhea, renal colic, biliary colic, and musculoskeletal pain accompanied by spasms.
