Goldspas Tablet is a combination medication containing Drotaverine 80 mg and Aceclofenac 100 mg, formulated to provide effective relief from smooth muscle spasms and associated pain. Drotaverine, an antispasmodic agent, acts by inhibiting phosphodiesterase-IV, leading to increased cyclic AMP levels and subsequent relaxation of smooth muscles, thereby alleviating spasmodic pain. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects by selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), resulting in decreased synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation and pain. Goldspas Tablet is indicated for the management of conditions characterized by smooth muscle spasm accompanied by pain and inflammation, such as renal colic, biliary colic, gastrointestinal spasms, and musculoskeletal disorders. It is particularly beneficial in providing rapid symptomatic relief in acute episodes. The combination therapy enhances patient compliance by addressing both spasm and inflammation simultaneously. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to NSAIDs, peptic ulcer disease, renal or hepatic impairment, and cardiovascular conditions. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under medical supervision. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on clinical response and tolerability.
