Lynx Injection contains Lincomycin 300 mg, a lincosamide antibiotic effective against a variety of aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive bacterial infections. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus species, and certain anaerobic bacteria when oral therapy is not feasible or when the infection is severe.

Lincomycin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing peptide bond formation. Lynx Injection is administered intramuscularly or intravenously, allowing for rapid systemic distribution and achieving therapeutic concentrations in tissues. It is commonly used in clinical settings for infections such as bone and joint infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and septicemia.
Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on the severity of infection, patient condition, and susceptibility of the causative organism. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to lincomycin or clindamycin, and monitoring for potential adverse effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, including pseudomembranous colitis, is essential.
