Icebic-DS Tablet contains Sodium Bicarbonate 1000 mg as its active ingredient and is primarily indicated for the management of conditions associated with metabolic acidosis and acid indigestion. Sodium Bicarbonate acts as an alkalizing agent by neutralizing excess gastric acid, thereby providing symptomatic relief from heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion. It also serves as an effective systemic alkalizer in cases of metabolic acidosis resulting from renal dysfunction, diabetic ketoacidosis, or other acid-base imbalances.

The onset of action is rapid, making it suitable for acute relief of symptoms related to hyperacidity. Icebic-DS should be administered as per the prescribed dosage, taking care to avoid excessive or prolonged use to prevent alkalosis or electrolyte disturbances such as hypernatremia. Caution is advised in patients with hypertension, congestive heart failure, or renal impairment due to the sodium content.
It is contraindicated in patients with hypocalcemia or those on calcium-restricted diets. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include gastric distension, flatulence, or metabolic alkalosis if overdosed. Regular monitoring of serum electrolytes and acid-base status is recommended during prolonged therapy. Icebic-DS Tablet should be used under medical supervision to ensure safe and effective management of acid-related disorders.
