Heptotal Tablet

Ursodeoxycholic Acid exerts its therapeutic effect by reducing the cholesterol content of bile, thereby decreasing cholesterol saturation and promoting the gradual dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones. Additionally, it improves bile flow and exerts cytoprotective effects on hepatocytes, mitigating cholestasis and liver inflammation. Heptotal Tablet is administered orally, with dosage tailored according to the specific condition and patient response, typically ranging from 10 to 15 mg/kg/day divided into two or three doses.

Common adverse effects are generally mild and include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal discomfort. Caution is advised in patients with complete biliary obstruction or advanced liver disease. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended during therapy to assess efficacy and detect potential hepatotoxicity.
