Xpreza 200mg Tablet contains Azacitidine, a nucleoside metabolic inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and certain types of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Azacitidine acts by incorporating into DNA and RNA, leading to hypomethylation of DNA and direct cytotoxicity on abnormal hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow. This mechanism helps restore normal function and differentiation of blood cells, thereby improving hematologic parameters and reducing transfusion dependence.

Xpreza is indicated for adult patients diagnosed with MDS, including refractory anemia with excess blasts, chronic myelomonocytic leukemia, and other related hematologic malignancies.
