Imacure ImatiSYM 400 Tablet contains Imatinib mesylate 400 mg, a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and certain other malignancies. Imatinib mesylate functions by inhibiting the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, a constitutively active enzyme resulting from the Philadelphia chromosome abnormality in CML, thereby blocking the proliferation of leukemic cells.

Additionally, it targets other tyrosine kinases such as c-KIT and PDGF-R, which are implicated in GIST and other neoplastic processes. Imacure ImatiSYM 400 Tablet is indicated for adult and pediatric patients with newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive CML, as well as for those with relapsed or refractory disease. It is also prescribed for unresectable and/or metastatic malignant GISTs expressing the c-KIT protein.
The tablet should be administered orally, typically once daily, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare professional. Common adverse effects include edema, nausea, muscle cramps, rash, and fatigue, while serious adverse reactions may involve myelosuppression, hepatotoxicity, and cardiac events. Regular monitoring of blood counts and liver function tests is recommended during therapy.
