By selectively inhibiting JAK enzymes, Ofacitix modulates the signaling pathways involved in the inflammatory process, thereby reducing joint inflammation, pain, and structural damage.

It is prescribed for patients who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to methotrexate or other disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). The recommended dosage is 5mg administered orally twice daily, with adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. Ofacitix may be used as monotherapy or in combination with methotrexate or other non-biologic DMARDs.
Common adverse effects include upper respiratory tract infections, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Serious risks involve infections, malignancies, and thrombosis; therefore, patients should be monitored regularly for signs of infection, blood counts, and lipid profiles during treatment.
