Mycophenolate mofetil (500mg)
Active composition
Mycophenolate mofetil inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), leading to decreased lymphocyte proliferation and immune response.
Medical applications
Mofisure 500 Tablet is a prescription medication containing mycophenolate mofetil, a selective immunosuppressive agent, used to prevent rejection in adult patients receiving a kidney transplant. It is also indicated for the prevention of organ rejection in adult patients with liver or heart transplant. Mofisure 500 Tablet is an esterified derivative of mycophenolic acid, which inhibits the activity of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, an enzyme involved in the de novo pathway of guanosine nucleotide synthesis. This results in the suppression of T-cell and B-cell activation and proliferation, thereby preventing rejection. The recommended dose is 1-2 tablets twice daily, with or without food. Mofisure 500 Tablet should be used under the close medical supervision of a transplant specialist and in conjunction with other immunosuppressive medications, such as cyclosporine, tacrolimus, or azathioprine. Patients should be informed of the potential risks and benefits of therapy, including the possibility of serious infections, malignancies, and blood disorders.
Phthalide Derivative
