Medical applications
Mofecon-S 180mg Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Mycophenolate sodium as the active ingredient. It is an immunosuppressive agent indicated for the prevention of organ rejection in adult patients with allogenic liver transplants, in combination with other immunosuppressive therapies. Mofecon-S is also used to treat moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis in adult patients, in combination with methotrexate, and to prevent rejection in adult patients with allogenic kidney transplants, in combination with other immunosuppressive therapies. It is administered orally twice daily. The recommended dose is 180mg (1 tablet) twice daily. The tablet should be taken with food. Mofecon-S is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to mycophenolate, pregnant women, and women of childbearing potential not using reliable contraception. It is also contraindicated in patients with impaired liver function or those with a history of lymphoma or lymphoproliferative disorders. Adverse reactions include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, and increased susceptibility to infections. Patients should be monitored regularly for signs of organ rejection or infection.
