Mofecon OS Oral Suspension is a medication used to prevent rejection in patients with renal transplant. It contains mycophenolate mofetil, a prodrug that is converted to mycophenolic acid (MPA) in the gastrointestinal tract. MPA is a potent immunosuppressant that inhibits the proliferation of activated T and B cells, thereby reducing the risk of allograft rejection. The oral suspension is administered once or twice daily, depending on the patient's weight and individual requirements. The recommended dose is 1000mg to 2000mg per day, divided into two or three doses. Patients should start treatment on the day of transplantation and continue for at least six months. Common adverse effects include diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset, and increased risk of infections.
