Jupitro 25 Tablet contains Eltrombopag 25 mg, a thrombopoietin receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), chronic hepatitis C-associated thrombocytopenia, and severe aplastic anemia. Eltrombopag functions by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocytes from bone marrow progenitor cells, thereby increasing platelet production.

This oral medication is prescribed to elevate platelet counts and reduce the risk of bleeding in patients with low platelet levels. The recommended dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on patient response and platelet counts, with regular monitoring to avoid excessive thrombocytosis. Jupitro 25 is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to eltrombopag or any of its excipients.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, as eltrombopag is metabolized hepatically, and dose adjustments may be necessary. Common adverse effects include headache, nausea, and elevated liver enzymes. Serious adverse reactions such as hepatotoxicity and thromboembolic events have been reported; therefore, periodic liver function tests and platelet counts are essential during treatment.
