Hepcinat Tablet contains Sofosbuvir 400 mg, an antiviral agent indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog inhibitor of the HCV NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, an essential enzyme for viral replication. By incorporating into the viral RNA chain, Sofosbuvir causes premature chain termination, thereby inhibiting viral replication and reducing viral load.

Hepcinat is typically used in combination with other antiviral agents, such as ribavirin or pegylated interferon, depending on the HCV genotype and patient-specific factors. It is effective across multiple HCV genotypes and has demonstrated high sustained virologic response rates in clinical trials. The tablet is administered orally, usually once daily, with or without food. Hepcinat is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Sofosbuvir or any of its components.
Caution is advised in patients with severe renal impairment or hepatic decompensation. Common adverse effects may include fatigue, headache, nausea, and insomnia. Regular monitoring of liver function tests and viral load is recommended during therapy. Hepcinat offers a well-tolerated and effective option for managing chronic hepatitis C, contributing to improved patient outcomes and reduced risk of liver-related complications.
