Jakura-XR Tablet contains Tofacitinib 11 mg, an oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis in adult patients who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to conventional therapies. Tofacitinib selectively inhibits JAK enzymes involved in the signaling pathways of various cytokines and growth factors essential for hematopoiesis and immune function, thereby modulating the immune response and reducing inflammation.

Jakura-XR is formulated as an extended-release tablet to provide sustained plasma concentrations, allowing once-daily dosing and improved patient compliance. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant improvements in signs and symptoms, physical function, and quality of life in patients treated with Tofacitinib. The safety profile includes risks of infections, including serious infections such as tuberculosis and opportunistic infections, malignancies, gastrointestinal perforations, and laboratory abnormalities such as elevated liver enzymes and lipid levels.
Prior to initiation, patients should be screened for latent tuberculosis and monitored regularly for infections and other adverse effects during therapy. Jakura-XR should be used with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment and is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tofacitinib or any of its excipients. It is essential to follow recommended dosing guidelines and monitor patients closely to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
