Ivrix 12 Tablet DT contains Ivermectin 12 mg, an antiparasitic agent widely used for the treatment of various parasitic infections. Ivermectin acts by binding selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels found in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, leading to increased permeability to chloride ions, hyperpolarization, and subsequent paralysis and death of the parasite. Ivrix 12 Tablet DT is indicated for the treatment of onchocerciasis (river blindness), strongyloidiasis, and other susceptible parasitic infestations such as scabies and lice. The tablet is designed as a dispersible tablet (DT) to facilitate ease of administration, especially in patients who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets. Ivrix 12 Tablet DT should be administered as a single oral dose, with the dosage and duration tailored according to the specific parasitic infection and patient weight. It is important to follow the prescribed regimen to ensure complete eradication of the parasite and to reduce the risk of resistance development. Common adverse effects may include mild gastrointestinal disturbances, dizziness, and transient pruritus.
