Ivoral Forte Tablet is a combination anthelmintic formulation containing Ivermectin 12 mg and Albendazole 400 mg, indicated for the treatment of a broad spectrum of parasitic infections. Ivermectin acts by binding selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, leading to paralysis and death of the parasites. Albendazole, a benzimidazole derivative, inhibits microtubule synthesis by binding to β-tubulin, disrupting essential cellular processes in helminths. This synergistic combination is effective against various intestinal and tissue parasites, including strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis, ascariasis, trichuriasis, hookworm infections, and neurocysticercosis. Ivoral Forte is particularly useful in treating mixed infections and in areas with high prevalence of multiple helminthic infestations. The tablet should be administered as a single dose or as prescribed by a healthcare professional, with dosage adjustments based on the type and severity of infection. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component and should be used cautiously in pregnant or lactating women.
