Ivervax 12 Tablet contains Ivermectin 12 mg, an antiparasitic agent widely used for the treatment of various parasitic infections. Ivermectin exerts its effect by binding selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, leading to increased permeability to chloride ions, hyperpolarization, paralysis, and eventual death of the parasite.

Ivervax 12 is indicated for the treatment of onchocerciasis (river blindness), strongyloidiasis, and other infections caused by susceptible parasites such as intestinal roundworms and certain ectoparasites. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage and duration tailored according to the specific infection and patient weight. Ivervax 12 is generally well tolerated; however, adverse effects may include mild gastrointestinal disturbances, dizziness, and transient skin reactions.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ivermectin or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised in patients with impaired liver function or concurrent use of other neurotoxic drugs. Ivervax 12 should be used under medical supervision, with adherence to prescribed dosing to ensure efficacy and minimize the risk of resistance development. It is not recommended for use in children weighing less than 15 kg or during pregnancy unless clearly indicated by a healthcare professional.
