Albendazole, a benzimidazole carbamate, inhibits microtubule synthesis in parasitic worms, disrupting their cellular structure and function, resulting in their elimination. This combination is particularly effective against intestinal helminths, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms, as well as tissue-dwelling parasites such as filarial worms. Ivertol-Plus is indicated for the treatment of mixed parasitic infections and is often preferred in cases where multiple infestations coexist.
The tablet should be administered orally, with dosage and duration determined by the healthcare provider based on the type and severity of infection. Common side effects may include mild gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, or headache, which are generally transient. Use is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component and in children under the recommended age.
