Geftistar is indicated for the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with activating EGFR mutations. The recommended dosage is 250 mg orally once daily, with or without food, and treatment should continue until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.
Common adverse effects include rash, diarrhea, nausea, and elevated liver enzymes, with rare but serious risks such as interstitial lung disease and hepatotoxicity. Liver function tests and clinical monitoring are advised during therapy.
