Geftibenz 250 is indicated for patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC harboring specific EGFR mutations, particularly exon 19 deletions or exon 21 (L858R) substitution mutations. The tablet is administered once daily, with or without food, and dosage adjustments may be necessary based on patient tolerance and hepatic function. Common adverse effects include diarrhea, rash, acneiform dermatitis, nausea, and elevated liver enzymes, which require monitoring during therapy.
Serious but less frequent adverse events include interstitial lung disease and hepatotoxicity. Geftibenz 250 should be prescribed by oncology specialists with appropriate diagnostic testing for EGFR mutation status. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Gefitinib or any excipients. Regular clinical and laboratory assessments are recommended to optimize therapeutic outcomes and manage potential toxicities.
