Before application, the skin should be clean and dry; the lotion is then gently rubbed over the entire body from the neck down, avoiding contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. After leaving the lotion on for the recommended duration, usually 8 to 12 hours, it should be washed off thoroughly. Caution is advised in patients with sensitive skin, children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with a history of seizures, as Lindane may cause neurotoxicity if absorbed in significant amounts.
