EP-CD Cream is a topical formulation containing Lidocaine 4% w/w, Metronidazole 1% w/w, and Sucralfate 7% w/w, designed for the management of inflammatory and painful dermatological conditions. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, provides rapid analgesic relief by blocking sodium channels in nerve membranes, thereby reducing pain and discomfort at the application site. Metronidazole, an antimicrobial agent with potent activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, helps control secondary infections and reduces inflammation associated with bacterial colonization. Sucralfate acts as a mucosal protectant and promotes tissue healing by forming a protective barrier over ulcerated or damaged skin, facilitating repair and preventing further irritation. EP-CD Cream is indicated for conditions such as infected wounds, ulcers, and inflammatory dermatoses where pain relief, infection control, and enhanced healing are required simultaneously. The combination of these active ingredients provides a synergistic effect, addressing multiple pathophysiological aspects of skin lesions.
