Zilos 25 Tablet contains Losartan 25 mg, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used primarily in the management of hypertension. By selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, Losartan promotes vasodilation, reduces aldosterone secretion, and decreases sodium and water retention, thereby lowering blood pressure. This medication is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension to reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and cardiovascular mortality in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy.

Additionally, Losartan is effective in managing diabetic nephropathy by slowing the progression of kidney damage in patients with type 2 diabetes and proteinuria. Zilos 25 is generally well tolerated, with common adverse effects including dizziness, headache, and fatigue. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Losartan or its components and should be used cautiously in individuals with renal or hepatic impairment.
Monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and serum potassium levels is recommended during therapy to prevent complications such as hyperkalemia and renal dysfunction.
