Z-Tel 40mg Tablet contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used primarily for the management of hypertension. By selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, Telmisartan inhibits vasoconstriction and the secretion of aldosterone, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. This mechanism helps decrease the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and other cardiovascular complications associated with hypertension.

Z-Tel is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. The recommended dosage is typically one 40mg tablet once daily, with or without food, but individual dosing should be tailored based on patient response and clinical judgment.
