Ypomin 5 is effective in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, thereby decreasing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. In BPH, Prazosin relaxes smooth muscle in the bladder neck and prostate, alleviating urinary obstruction and improving urine flow. The medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Prazosin or other quinazolines and should be used cautiously in individuals with a history of orthostatic hypotension or severe hepatic impairment.

Common adverse effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and palpitations, often related to its vasodilatory action.
