Xstan-AMH Tablet

Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in peripheral arterial vasodilation and decreased systemic vascular resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to volume reduction and blood pressure lowering.

The combination of these three agents provides complementary mechanisms to achieve enhanced antihypertensive efficacy. Xstan-AMH is indicated for patients with essential hypertension who require multiple drug therapy to attain target blood pressure levels. It should be used under medical supervision with monitoring of renal function, electrolytes, and blood pressure to minimize potential adverse effects such as electrolyte imbalance, hypotension, or renal impairment.
