Winbp-AM 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which leads to decreased blood pressure. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective and sustained blood pressure control in patients with hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Winbp-AM 40 Tablet is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, particularly in patients who require combination therapy to achieve target blood pressure levels. It is generally well tolerated; however, common adverse effects may include dizziness, headache, peripheral edema, and fatigue.
