Chlorthalidone (12.5mg) + Olmesartan Medoxomil (20mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Olmesartan Medoxomil blocks angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and lowering blood pressure.
Medical applications
Olzox CH Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg and Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which results in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to decreased plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The combination of these two agents provides complementary mechanisms for effective blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension. Olzox CH Tablet is indicated for the treatment of hypertension to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. It is generally well tolerated; however, monitoring of electrolytes, renal function, and blood pressure is recommended during therapy to detect potential adverse effects such as hyperkalemia, hypokalemia, or renal impairment. Olzox CH Tablet should be used under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on therapeutic response and patient-specific factors.

Common Side Effects
Olzox CH Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
