Olmiwake 40AM Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, leading to decreased blood pressure. Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, promoting vasodilation and reducing peripheral vascular resistance.

The synergistic action of these two agents effectively manages hypertension by targeting different physiological pathways, improving blood pressure control in patients inadequately responsive to monotherapy. Olmiwake 40AM is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular events associated with high blood pressure. It is generally well tolerated, with common adverse effects including dizziness, peripheral edema, and headache.
