Olmin Trio 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 40mg, Cilnidipine 10mg, and Chlorthalidone 12.5mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), effectively lowers blood pressure by inhibiting the vasoconstrictive effects of angiotensin II, thereby promoting vasodilation and reducing peripheral resistance. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker with dual L-type and N-type calcium channel antagonistic properties, contributes to blood pressure reduction by relaxing vascular smooth muscle and inhibiting sympathetic nerve activity. Chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic, enhances natriuresis and diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to decreased plasma volume and reduced blood pressure.
