Olmibite CT 20 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg and Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and reduction of blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that promotes sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, thereby reducing plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. This combination is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, providing additive blood pressure-lowering effects through complementary mechanisms. Olmibite CT 20 Tablet helps in controlling high blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure.
