Olmecaid 20 Tablet contains Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used primarily for the management of hypertension. By selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle, Olmesartan Medoxomil promotes vasodilation, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and lowering blood pressure. This antihypertensive effect helps to prevent complications associated with elevated blood pressure, such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and renal impairment.

Olmecaid 20 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults and may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. The medication is generally well tolerated; common adverse effects include dizziness, headache, and fatigue. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or any component of the formulation, and caution is advised in individuals with impaired renal or hepatic function.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy. Olmecaid 20 should not be used during pregnancy due to the risk of fetal toxicity. Patients are advised to adhere to prescribed dosages and consult healthcare providers before initiating or discontinuing treatment.
