Olmax-3D 20 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg, Amlodipine 5 mg, and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that helps relax blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, thereby reducing blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, promoting vasodilation and decreasing peripheral vascular resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that facilitates the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to blood pressure reduction through decreased plasma volume. The combined action of these three agents provides a synergistic effect in managing hypertension, improving blood pressure control in patients inadequately responsive to monotherapy or dual therapy. Olmax-3D 20 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction.
