How It Works
Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, leading to increased urine output and decreased blood volume.

Olmark-H 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg and Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, thereby reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure. Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which results in vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance.

The combination of these two agents provides complementary mechanisms to effectively manage hypertension, improving blood pressure control and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Olmark-H 40 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients who require multiple drug therapy to achieve target blood pressure levels.
It should be used under medical supervision, with caution in patients with renal impairment, electrolyte imbalances, or hypersensitivity to any component. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy to ensure safety and efficacy. This medication is contraindicated in pregnancy and should be avoided in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis.

How to use Olmark-H Tablet Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmark-H 40 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
