Nebivolol (5mg)
Active composition
Nebivolol selectively blocks beta-1 adrenergic receptors, leading to vasodilation and reduced heart rate.
Medical applications
Nebifid 5mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Nebivolol, a selective, competitive, and highly lipophilic beta-1-blocker. It is indicated in the management of essential hypertension and angina pectoris. Nebifid's unique property of being a selective beta-1-blocker and a vasodilator provides an added benefit of reducing peripheral vascular resistance, thereby reducing the potential for bronchial constriction and masking of hypoglycemia. Nebifid should be used with caution in patients with severe bradycardia, heart failure, or a history of severe or unstable angina. Nebifid is contraindicated in patients with second- or third-degree heart block, sick sinus syndrome, or cardiogenic shock. Common adverse effects include fatigue, bradycardia, and dizziness. Patients should be carefully monitored for signs of hypotension, especially during the initial dose titration.
