Mupon 2% Ointment is a topical antibacterial medication containing Mupirocin as the active ingredient at a concentration of 2% (w/w). It is intended for the local treatment and prevention of secondary bacterial infections, including impetigo and wound infections caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Mupon 2% Ointment should be applied sparingly to the affected areas, up to three times a day. It is not recommended for use in the eyes, mouth, or vagina without medical advice. Prolonged use may lead to bacterial resistance, and the development of skin reactions. As with any medication, potential interactions and contraindications should be discussed with a healthcare provider before use.
