This extended-release tablet is designed to provide a consistent and prolonged therapeutic effect over a 24-hour period, allowing for a single daily dose. Metwell 25mg Tablet XL is a beta1-selective adrenoceptor antagonist that works by slowing the heart rate, reducing cardiac output, and decreasing peripheral resistance, thereby decreasing blood pressure. The drug is also useful in preventing and managing symptoms of angina pectoris, including chest pain and dyspnea. The recommended starting dose is 25mg once daily, which can be titrated up to 100mg once daily as needed. Metwell 25mg Tablet XL is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to metoprolol, second- or third-degree atrioventricular block, or severe bradycardia.
