This sustained-release formulation ensures a gradual release of the active ingredient, providing prolonged therapeutic effects and improved patient compliance. Metoprolol Succinate acts by reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby decreasing myocardial oxygen demand.

It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and heart failure, as well as for secondary prevention following myocardial infarction. The medication helps in controlling blood pressure, reducing the frequency and severity of angina attacks, and improving survival and quality of life in patients with chronic heart failure. Metcy 50 Tablet SR should be administered once daily, preferably at the same time each day, and dosage adjustments should be made based on clinical response and tolerability.
Caution is advised in patients with bradycardia, hypotension, or certain conduction abnormalities. Common side effects may include fatigue, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, and known hypersensitivity to beta-blockers. Regular monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure is recommended during therapy.
