Fluticasone Propionate (250mcg) + Formoterol (6mcg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Fluticasone Propionate works by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, leading to the transcriptional regulation of anti-inflammatory proteins and inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators, reducing airway inflammation.
Medical applications
Maxiflo Synchrobreathe 6mcg/250mcg Inhaler is a combination medication containing Formoterol fumarate dihydrate (6mcg) and Fluticasone Propionate (250mcg) designed for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formoterol is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that provides bronchodilation by relaxing airway smooth muscle, resulting in improved airflow and symptom relief. Fluticasone Propionate is a potent inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cells and mediators, thereby reducing airway inflammation, swelling, and hyperresponsiveness. The synergistic action of these two active ingredients helps control symptoms, decrease exacerbation frequency, and improve lung function in patients requiring both bronchodilation and anti-inflammatory therapy. Maxiflo Synchrobreathe is indicated for patients inadequately controlled on ICS alone or those already receiving LABA and ICS combination therapy. It is administered via inhalation, allowing targeted delivery to the lungs with minimal systemic exposure. Regular use as prescribed is essential for optimal disease management. Patients should be monitored for potential side effects, including oral candidiasis, dysphonia, and paradoxical bronchospasm. This inhaler should not be used for acute bronchospasm or asthma attacks.
How to use Maxiflo Inhaler Check the label for directions before use. Shake the inhaler. While you are breathing in from mouth, press down on the inhaler one time to release the medication and hold your breath for 10 seconds.
