Macarbi 40 Tablet contains Azilsartan medoxomil 40 mg, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Azilsartan medoxomil selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor subtype found in vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. This results in vasodilation, reduced peripheral resistance, and consequently, lowered blood pressure.

Macarbi 40 is prescribed to manage essential hypertension, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction associated with elevated blood pressure.
