Lupidip-A Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Amlodipine 5 mg and Atenolol 50 mg, indicated for the management of hypertension and angina pectoris. Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, exerts its effect by inhibiting calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance. Atenolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker, decreases heart rate, cardiac output, and myocardial oxygen demand, thereby contributing to blood pressure reduction and angina symptom control. The synergistic action of these two agents provides effective blood pressure control and symptomatic relief in angina patients. Lupidip-A is typically administered once daily, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, or known hypersensitivity to either component.
