Losar-H Tablet contains a combination of Losartan 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, indicated primarily for the management of hypertension. Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, works by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby causing vasodilation and reducing blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, which further aids in lowering blood pressure. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides enhanced antihypertensive efficacy compared to monotherapy. Losar-H is prescribed for patients who require more than one medication to achieve adequate blood pressure control or when monotherapy with either agent is insufficient.
