Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, resulting in lowered blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker of the dihydropyridine class, which inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, promoting vasodilation and reducing peripheral vascular resistance.

The combined action of Losartan and Amlodipine provides an additive antihypertensive effect, improving blood pressure control in patients inadequately managed by monotherapy.
