Losanorm 50-H Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Losartan 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which leads to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, resulting in increased excretion of sodium and water, which further aids in lowering blood pressure.

This combination is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, particularly in patients who require more than one agent to achieve adequate blood pressure control. Losanorm 50-H Tablet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction by effectively managing elevated blood pressure. It is important to monitor electrolyte levels, renal function, and blood pressure regularly during therapy.
Contraindications include hypersensitivity to either component, anuria, or severe renal impairment. Use with caution in patients with diabetes, gout, or hepatic dysfunction. Adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, and increased uric acid levels. Always use under medical supervision.

How to use Losanorm H Tablet Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Losanorm 50-H Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
