Lodoz 5 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Bisoprolol 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 6.25 mg. Bisoprolol is a selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing myocardial oxygen demand. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to a reduction in blood volume and peripheral vascular resistance.

The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective management of hypertension, improving blood pressure control and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Lodoz 5 is indicated for patients requiring combination therapy when monotherapy with either agent is insufficient. It should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, electrolyte imbalances, diabetes mellitus, or a history of bronchospastic diseases.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during treatment. Contraindications include severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and hypersensitivity to any component. Lodoz 5 Tablet should be administered under medical supervision with adherence to prescribed dosage to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

How to use Lodoz Tablet Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lodoz 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
