Lasix Tablet

This diuretic effect reduces fluid accumulation, thereby alleviating symptoms such as swelling and breathlessness. Additionally, Lasix is employed in the treatment of hypertension, either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, to lower elevated blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular risk. The onset of action typically occurs within one hour of oral administration, with peak diuresis observed at approximately two hours and lasting up to six to eight hours.

Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s clinical condition and response, with careful monitoring of electrolyte levels and renal function to prevent adverse effects such as hypokalemia, dehydration, and hypotension. Contraindications include anuria and hypersensitivity to furosemide or sulfonamides. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
