Lasix Injection, containing Furosemide 10 mg/ml, is a potent loop diuretic indicated for the management of edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and renal disease, including nephrotic syndrome. It acts by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the ascending loop of Henle, promoting diuresis and reducing fluid overload. This injectable formulation allows for rapid onset of action, making it suitable for patients requiring immediate diuretic effect or those unable to take oral medications.

Lasix Injection is also employed in the treatment of hypertension when oral therapy is inadequate. The dosage should be individualized based on the patient's clinical condition and response, with careful monitoring of fluid and electrolyte balance to prevent dehydration, hypokalemia, or other electrolyte disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, hepatic dysfunction, or electrolyte imbalances.
Adverse effects may include hypotension, dizziness, ototoxicity, and electrolyte abnormalities. Lasix Injection should be administered intravenously or intramuscularly under medical supervision, ensuring aseptic technique. It is contraindicated in patients with anuria or hypersensitivity to furosemide or sulfonamides. Regular monitoring of renal function and electrolytes is recommended during therapy to optimize safety and efficacy.
